Come to the AHC for our free movie night. Movies are held in the Aviation Heritage Center Lab on the second Friday of the month. Doors open at 6:30 and a brief presentation will be given at 6:45 by a local aviation historian. The movie starts at 7pm. Admittance is free. Folding chairs are available, but feel free to bring your own lawn chair, blanket or sleeping bag to sit on. Freshly popped popcorn, candy and beverages are available for purchase.
The "Battle of Britain" (unrated) was released in 1969 and stars Laurence Olivier, Hein Reiss, Trevor Howard, Michael Caine, and Christopher Plummer. It is a re-creation of the historical events in WWII during the summer and autumn of 1940 when the British Royal Air Force battled the Nazi Germany Air Force for control of British air space to prevent a Nazi invasion of Britain.
The film has spectacular flying sequences. The sky battles were carefully choreographed in acordance to rues of combat during the 1940s.
